Class-Pass

I have a confession to make.  After visiting my Endocrinologist, I was enlightened that I had gained 17 lbs in the last 6 months.  Not good, right?  Now, this isn’t THAT big of a shock to me.  I of course knew my body was making a change for the worst when I started having trouble fitting into my jeans and began dressing in only big sweaters throughout the winter.  For someone who usually strives to think outside the box and get creative with attire, this new normal was quite depressing.

After looking back over the past few months, I realized how unhappy and stressed I have been at work.  This coupled with the awful Minnesota winter reduced my energy levels and outlook on the near future.

For those of you who haven’t kept up on the news, Target HQ has been going through quite a lot of change over the past couple of months.  Some of which is temporary (hiring and promotion freezes) and others that are permanent (layoffs).  With my professional future unknown I was constantly anxious from all of the nervous energy which was quite draining.

Well…its a new day.  With most of the bad behind me/us, I’m only looking forward.  No more poor me, or what is my future going to look like.  At the end of the day, I know I can make my future look like whatever I want and I’m deciding that it is time to get back in shape and be healthy.

Which brings me to the one and only Class Pass.  I signed up for Class Pass approximately 3 weeks ago and could not be happier!  It is an amazing concept brought to life.  (I wish I would have thought of it).  All you do is pay a monthly fee, similar to a gym membership, and with it you gain access to endless studios and gyms around your city!  It gives you hundreds of options at your fingertips!

I am one that likes variety as my routine, so this was a perfect solution.  By joining Class Pass I now have the option to do CrossFit one day and Pilates the next, allowing me to take up to 3 classes a month at the same studio.  At such a low price of $79 for the Minneapolis/St. Paul area, the pass usually pays for itself after only 3 to 5 classes!  (CrossFit and Pilates can be anywhere from $15-$40 per class).

They also offer cycling, barre, yoga, kickboxing, circuit training, dance, strength training and more.  There are endless opportunities for every fitness level.  Not only that, Class Pass does a great job of continuing to grow their network and is constantly adding studios each month!

Give it a try and maybe I’ll see you in the future (hopefully a few lbs lighter).  If for some reason you aren’t happy with Class Pass, there is no harm because you can cancel at any time.  So no more making excuses for yourself!  Grab a friend and give it a try.  I promise you will be happy you did.
