Over this past weekend I was lucky enough to be a part of a legalized same sex marriage in the state of Minnesota.  Thanks to the new law being passed earlier this year, two of my closest friends in Minneapolis, Becky and Gracie, were able to share their love and commitment for one another in front of over 100 supportive friends and family members!  I couldn’t be happier for them.

I also couldn’t be more impressed with how everything turned out.  The venue at James J. Hill Library couldn’t have been a more perfect venue for their big day.  With the large pillars, rows and rows of books, and marble floors it created a timeless photographers dream.  Additionally, with the beautiful touches of wood and flowers amongst the tables they were able to create a natural, but yet classy feel.

Overall, it was a humbling experience to see all of the love that these two have for each other, and I feel blessed that I was able to be apart of the most important day of their lives, making a commitment of a lifetime.

If you live in a state where same sex marriage has yet to be legalized be sure to vote when the time comes.  Every voice counts!

Now…if only there were some decent men in this city 😉

  1. Yay! And I totally agree, not enough good (single) men in Minnesota. Also, a friend of mine got married at the Landmark center this year and it really is the perfect wedding venue in my eyes!
